in The Golden Kingdom




In the space between a woman's hands and the soil she touches lives an unspoken covenant with nature. These illustrations honor Vigdis Rosenkilde's quiet communion with the Peruvian wilderness—how she kneels beside these creatures, not as observer but as kin.I sought to render visible what often remains unseen: the emotional life pulsing beneath fur and feather. Each animal embodies a distinct chocolate variety in Vigdis' collection, their personalities reflecting the nuanced flavor profiles she so carefully cultivates. Their expressions—tender, curious, content—mirror the emotional landscape Vigdis herself discovered in her journeys through Amazonian depths.
